Highlighting cross-discipline collaboration, IdeaFest brings Tablo, Kevin Kwan, Stefan Sagmeister to the biggest creative festival in Indonesia

The biggest annual creative festival in Indonesia, IdeaFest, is back in town. Global inspirational figures such as South Korean rapper Tablo, Austrian graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister and the author of Crazy Rich Asians Kevin Kwan will join in the discussions.

Local figures including Dian Sastrowardoyo, Dee Lestari, Gita Wirjawan, Kunto Aji, Voice Of Baceprot, Raffi Ahmad, Arawinda Kirana and Wregas Bhanuteja will also participate in the event.

For its tenth anniversary this year, IdeaFest carries “The Future of X” as its theme to highlight the importance of collaboration between different disciplines in the creative industry, building an ecosystem that could prepare all talents for whatever the future might bring.

IdeaFest seeks to be a space where disruptive and trendsetting individuals share, discuss and provoke fresh and insightful ideas in one collaborative avenue so everyone could connect and learn from each other to scale up their initiatives to move towards an inclusive future.

“Drawing from the current movement of the creative industry that is very much transformative as well as the rapid development of technology that triggers the emergence of interesting issues from many people from different industrial sectors, IdeaFest attempts to respond, such as by developing different content pillars from various creative industry sectors that deserve to be discussed deeper with the experts in the field,” said Desy Bachir, co-CEO of Samara Live, the event planner of IdeaFest.

Consistent with the concept of collaboration as its main highlight, IdeaFest will bring up 14 different main content pillars from architecture, design, film, media and content to wellness, beauty, tech, entrepreneurship and many more. All pillars are carefully curated to support the development of various sub-sectors of the creative economy and to encourage collaboration to advance the Indonesian economy.

Each content pillar will discuss the current issues that may inspire and create cross-industry collaboration. For instance, the Wellness pillar will raise content related to mental health issues, spiritualism, at-home exercise and eco anxiety. TFR will join the segment and share about work-life balance on Saturday, 27 November at 10am.

The Arts pillar will discuss the presence of NFT and art activism. Meanwhile, the presence of digital banking, gaming industry, cryptocurrencies and 5G technology will be discussed under the Technology pillar.

IdeaFest 2021 is held in a hybrid format both offline in MBloc Space and online at Jagat.Live metaverse on 18-28 November.
