2020 Festival Film Indonesia to air on 5 December

In an unprecedented time, 2020 Festival Film Indonesia (FFI) will continue to run its award show on 5 December. The ceremony will be aired online while only a few is invited to attend the ceremony offline. FFI has been running for 40 years and it is one of the most prestigious award ceremonies for film industry in the country.

Since early October, the committee comprising academics, journalists and actors has prepared list of short films, feature films, animated film and documentaries that makes the cut. Author Leila Salikha Chudori was invited this year to join the committee.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the FFI committee this year allows feature films launched on streaming platforms to be contested by the curators for nomination. According to the press release sent to TFR, there are 12 feature films with additional 10 films in special category that will be assessed by representatives of film workers association.

The complete list of nomination for 2020 will be announced on Friday, 7 November.
