TheXhibit fashion and art exhibition: creative show to celebrate ESMOD International 180th anniversary

ESMOD Jakarta Fashion Design and Business last weekend held its annual creative event titled “The Xhibit”. The event is considered as a way to appreciate the work of Indonesian young designers. Unlike the previous concepts, this year's creative show was held in the form of a fashion and art exhibition.

“ESMOD Jakarta regularly holds an annual creative show - a forum that could inspire fashion and art activists, especially young fashion enthusiasts. However, unlike the previous years, this year we adopted the concept of an art exhibition, where visitors can enjoy fashion shows in a whole different format. It is in accordance with our jargon: a new way to regard, experience and feel a fashion presentation," said ESMOD Jakarta Event and PR Manager Chike Herningtias.

In the exhibition, visitors could enjoy fashion showcases, art installations, free workshops, a designer atelier room (a simulation of a fashion designer's work studio) and mini pop-up bazaar for fashion needs, from make-up to skin care.

The exhibition showcases 80 works of young Indonesian designers, in collaboration with two artists from ERUDIO Indonesia and Ilham Rambe. Four influential designers, namely Mel Ahyar, Rama Dauhan, Eridani and Tangan (Zico Halim and Margaretha Novianty), also took part in the event.

TheXhibit is also part of ESMOD International 180th anniversary celebration which emphasises the values of heritage and history, savoir faire and technique, education, eco-consciousness, multiculturality and inclusivity, innovation and so on.

The 180th anniversary celebration will be held both online and offline on 5-19 November 2021. Projects done by ESMOD Jakarta students will be showcased at ESMOD International Fashion Show on 18 November.

“ESMOD Jakarta will continue to showcase the innovative work of young and talented Indonesian designers every year across all programmes from the fashion design and pattern making programme to international fashion business programme. It also includes the fashion design and creation programme which specialises in kid's wear, lingerie, men's wear, women's ready-to-wear, women's luxury design and women's modern couture," said ESMOD Jakarta Academic Programme Manager Patrice Desilles.
