Indonesian crypto exchange platform for crypto assets, Tokocrypto, organised a fundraising project in collaboration with public figures, such as artist William Tan, chef Arnold Poernomo and former GoPay CEO Aldi Haryopratomo.

The project sold 1024 NFT artworks and managed to raise 222 ethereum, equivalent to Rp10 billion, in four hours. The sale was conducted on Twitter Space, hosted by Tokocrypto CEO Pang Xue Kai. All proceeds from the project will be donated to Oxygen for Indonesia, a coalition created by the Indonesian startup ecosystem.

"This is a historic moment in Indonesia because this is the first-ever charity auction that is held in the form of NFT sale. This charity auction is a part of the TokoCare program, a Tokocrypto initiative to collaborate together and take action in various kinds of corporate social responsibility programs," Kai stated. Aldi said that from this initiative, it can be seen that NFT has successfully captured public interest.

Oxygen For Indonesia is seeking to supply more than 1,500 hospitals throughout the country with 10,000 oxygen concentrators in order to help and support 30,000 COVID-19 patients in Indonesia in the short run and 7 million more patients in the long run.
