Justin Bieber breaks all-time Spotify record for monthly listeners

Justin Bieber has become the most listened to artist on Spotify with 84.3 million monthly listeners, breaking the all-time record in Spotify history. 

The success of his latest album “Justice” is cited as the significant reason behind this achievement. The song “Stay” has spent the past six weeks crowning the US Billboard Hot 100, helping drive Bieber’s Spotify stream. 

Canadian hitmaker The Weeknd came in second with 74.53 million monthly listeners, followed by Ed Sheeran with 72.41 million monthly listeners. The previous record for the most listened to artist on Spotify was held by Ariana Grande with 82 million monthly listeners. 

This data shows that pop music artists still manage to snatch the top spots not only in music charts, but also in music streaming platforms, such as Spotify.
